MANADO, MediaManado.com – Thousands of fishermen and fishing company labor which are incorporated in Forum Nelayan Bersatu Sulut, on Thursday (18/12) afternoon filled the office of Governor and Regional People’s Representatives Assembly of North Sulawesi. The fishermen and labors came to protest the government policy, especially RI Department of Maritime and Fisheries Affairs that released Permen 57 year 2014 which banned hookers to move the fish hauls to the container ship.
The protesters were led by Forum Nelayan Bersatu Sulut, Himpunan Nelayan Seluruh Indonesia (HNSI) Bitung City, Asosiasi Perusahaan Pengelolaan Perikanan Bitung, and Asosiasi Kapal Perikanan Sulut. On behalf of North Sulawesi Governor, Parengkuan said North Sulawesi Government will deliver this issue to RI Ministry of Maritime and Fisheries Affairs.
According to The Head of HNSI Bitung city Iten Kojongian, the impacts real happened to 329 container ships which can not sail until right now, It makes 41 unit of fish managements in Bitung city do not operate, because there’s no fish raw materials.(mourren/Eukaristi)
