This Commemoration of Hari Nusantara Tingkat Nasional was officially opened by President Joko Widodo in Saring Laut Beach, Kotabaru, South Kalimantan, Monday (15/12/2014)
President Jokowi was accompanied by the Ministers including Minister of Maritime and Fisheries Affairs Susi Pudjiastuti, Minister of Research, Technology and Higher Education M Nasir
Hari Nusantara is a commemoration of Djoeanda Declaration by the Prime Minister Ir Djoenda related to the territory of RI sea on December 13th 1957, that marked 12 miles the boundary of Indonesia sea width from shoreline which previously was only 3 miles.
By determination of 12 miles marine areas from Indonesia shoreline, the territorial sea from the Islands in Indonesia be consolidated, then Hari Nusantara was considered as the second Declaration of Indonesian Independence.
Through the declaration, Indonesia knit and reunite the areas and the seas which are wide, be untied became the intact and sovereign unity.
